The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) Eurosport State Championship was initiated and organized in 2000 to enhance the accomplishments competitive players achieve by participating is a state championship tournament for those age groups not yet eligible to advance to regional and national play. The development of all players within KYSA is advanced when the player meets personal challenges.

A record 110 teams participated in the 2007 Eurosport Challenge Cup in Owensboro and Bowling Green.

The Eurosport Challenge Cup is open to teams ages Under 9 through Under 12, both boys and girls. The Eurosport Challenge Cup is held annually the 3rd Weekend of May & Finals 1st weekend of June 

ORIGINS OF THE CUP

Working in cooperation with long time partner, Eurosport, KYSA  introduced an new OPEN cup for younger players in the Spring of 2001.  Kentucky Youth Soccer Eurosport Challenge Cup rules apply.  All age groups play small sided with reduced game times as specified in the state rules

Louisville Soccer Park served as the venue for the Inaugural Eurosport Challenge Cup presented by The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association. The first weekend in June of 2001

PHILOSOPHY

The development of all players within KYSA is advanced when the player meets personal challenges. 

BASIC GUIDELINES

The Eurosport Challenge Cup is played under the same basic rules regarding team formation.  Guidelines are contained in the Kentucky State Rules, within the Cup Rules available from the Kentucky State Office and here online.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Only teams registered with the KYSA, through an affiliate member league are eligible to participate in the Kentucky Eurosport Challenge Cup, teams may  be recreational or competitive. No all-star teams or guest players are allowed. Any league, club or association found to have substituted ineligible players on a roster will forfeit their games at this tournament and may be subject to further sanctions. Additionally, any team or player entered in or rostered for Eurosport Challenge Cup is not eligible to participate in the American or Commonwealth Cups.
