The relationship between the Board of Directors, the Executive Director/Office Manager and the Coaching Director is one of the most difficult to understand and manage effectively in youth soccer. A
Coaching Director or Director of Coaching (DOC) is hired
by the Board of Directors and/or the Executive Director
to meet defined technical need of the association - the
development of players and coaches within the
organization.

After the hugely successful Novice Coach: An Introduction to Coaching Youth
Soccer for Under-6 through Under-10 players released in 2005, US Youth Soccer
has improved and expanded the collection to create the new two volume Novice
Coach series. Each volume contains age-appropriate activities and coaching
education. The new DVDs will provide 25 technical segments and information
about team management and coaching logistics, in addition to skills and
activities.
