The
relationship between the Board of Directors, the
Executive Director/Office Manager and the Coaching
Director is one of the most difficult to understand and
manage effectively in youth soccer.
A
Coaching Director or Director of Coaching (DOC) is hired
by the Board of Directors and/or the Executive Director
to meet defined technical need of the association - the
development of players and coaches within the
organization.

US Youth
Soccer Introduces
The
Novice Coach DVD Version 2
After the hugely successful Novice Coach: An Introduction to Coaching Youth
Soccer for Under-6 through Under-10 players released in 2005, US Youth Soccer
has improved and expanded the collection to create the new two volume Novice
Coach series. Each volume contains age-appropriate activities and coaching
education. The new DVDs will provide 25 technical segments and information
about team management and coaching logistics, in addition to skills and
activities.
The Novice Coach begins with an introduction about coaching responsibilities and
the characteristics of the players. The series also contains a downloadable
guide that provides a more in depth look into coaching including a game day
checklist, information on injury prevention and formations.
The Novice Coach: An Introduction to Coaching Youth Soccer, Volumes 1 and 2,
will be available as a set for $5.00 or individual volumes for $3.00 each. To
